This quote is a powerful reminder for first-time managers that their role is to support, guide, and empower their teams to succeed.
Our recent training workshop for first-time managers of an insurance company was a powerful experience, designed to equip new leaders with the essential skills and mindset to thrive in their roles.
Key Learning Outcomes:
1. Managerial Mindset: Participants explored the mindset shift required to transition from individual contributor to manager, focusing on the responsibilities and perspectives unique to leadership. We used #picturecards to help participants connect with each other and explore what being a manager means to them. We then followed this with #WorldCafe to explore the Attitude, Skills and Knowledge required to be an effective manager
2. Understanding Behaviors: The workshop delved into understanding both self and others’ behaviors with a #disc assessment, highlighting the importance of adaptability in managing diverse teams effectively.
3. Leadership Styles: Managers decoded various #disc #leadership styles using #textra and were guided to identify and refine their personal leadership approach for thier leadership challenge, ensuring they can lead with authenticity and impact.
4. Prioritization & Delegation:Effective prioritization, planning, and delegation were key topics using the #eisenhower matrix, equipping managers with tools to manage both their tasks and their teams efficiently.
5. Conflict Resolution: Conflict resolution strategies were discussed, empowering managers to address and resolve conflicts within their teams proactively and constructively.
6. Giving #Feedback: The art of giving constructive feedback was emphasized, teaching managers how to provide feedback to the various behaviour styles that drives improvement and motivates their team members.
This workshop was an essential step in preparing our new managers to lead with confidence and competence. We’re excited to see them apply these insights as they guide their teams to success! 🌟
