Inspiring with language

Language is one of the many barriers when communicating and language fluency in the business environment is an asset to grow professionally. And then there is the matter of choice of words and the impact they have on the tone of the message.

As part of coach practice, being mindful of the words we use has an impact on the coachee’s mind

As a trainer, I have observed this as a challenge for participants over many years so I began exploring the verbal aspect of communication in the last year.

What impact does the spoken word have?

Besides just speaking and getting my message accross, what about the tonality of the words?

Am I being collaborative when I use the word ‘should’? Am I requesting when I use the word ‘can’?

Why use ‘why’? Why NOT use ‘why’? Why can’t I use ‘should’? What’s the difference if the sentence is framed negatively?

So many questions….

My journey led me to a train the trainer spoken english certification program to understand the finer nuances of spoken english.

I met a very cool lady and and inspiration to many – Jayashree Pujara and who teaches Spoken English and helps people grow both personally and professionally.

I learnt as much about engaging people in the classroom as I did the art of teaching spoken english through my interactions with Jayashree.

Jayashree started her first career at 40. And she has spent the last 20 odd years teaching spoken english to people from all walks of life.

Surekha Ritesh and I share a little more about her and her journey to transforming over 2000 lives in this video.
